MEALS & OTHER DETAILS

Hey all! John and I just got back from a weekend up around Degray Lake in the Ozarks and we are SO pumped to head back with ya'll next month. As the trip nears I want to nail down a few details .

I just revised the schedule to include some details on the meals and departure time etc, so check out the post below.

Regarding meals, we'll do most on our own except for Saturday night dinner (which we'll all do together as a pot luck) and dessert both nights. For dessert we'll do smores both nights and on Sat night we'll also do a dutch oven apple cobbler dessert (which is John's fav). Here are some ideas for meals on your own
  • Cereal, granola bars, donughts, muffins etc make breakfast super easy
  • Sandwiches are the easiest for lunches
  • Also...there is a restaurant at the Lodge where the Whiddons and Fowlers are staying
  • There is a Cracker Barrell, Wendy's and McDonalds 15 mins down the road, in Arkadelphia
  • Don't forget to pack snacks and lots of drinks to keep in a cooler
  • If you forget something, there is a small sundry shop in the Visitor Center, or there is a Walmart 20 mins away

For the Saturday night meal, let's divide the meal as follows (note: we will have 10 adults and 11 children)

  • Paynes - Burgers for 12 & fixings for Apple Cobbler
  • Jessens - Condiments & Buns for Hot Dogs and Hamburgers
  • Whiddons - Hot Dogs for 16 & Cheese for Hamburgers
  • Entzimizers - Side Dish & Chips
  • Fowlers - Smores Fixings (Large Marshmellows, Hershey's Bars, Graham Crackers)

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------**Every morning we're usually up early and always have coffee and hot cocoa on, so swing on down to Yurt #2 when you're up and around:)
